Although we have contracts with the areas we serve, we hold different fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for the purchase of additional firefighting equipment, so we can provide the best service possible. On the third Sunday of each month, Starting in October and running through April, we hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast at station one in Green Springs. The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, and coffee for a price of $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Stop on in for conversation over great breakfast. In the fall, usually the first or second Saturday in November, we hold a reverse raffle. This year marks our 11th annual reverse raffle, which has been very successful over the years. There are 100 tickets sold and everyone goes home with a prize. The last ticket drawn from the drum recieves $3000.00 for last place. All the tickets drawn, leading up to the grand prize, also win a prize. Those prizes come via donations from area businesses. Ticket price of $100.00 is good for 2 meals, beverages, and one chance in the drawing. We now also do a reverse raffle in the spring. It is usually at the end of April each year. It is much the same as the fall raffle, with the exception that there is not a prize for every ticket pulled. Top prize is the same and there are cash prizes every 10 tickets drawn and for the last 3 tickets pulled which includes the grand prize. We have raffled off 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles now as well. We did one in 2001 with the drawing being held on Independence Day following the fireworks. We did a second one in 2003, that drawing was held on Sept. 6th after the Day At The Park festivities.
